In tough times it’s tempting to resort to artificial means of enjoying a little happiness.

But we all know where escapist vices can lead us…

Sometime, no matter how bad life seems, you’ve just got to hang in there…

Remember that there’s always someone, somewhere who has it worse than you…

There’s always someone in more danger than you…

There’s always someone who’s less attractive than you…

Or a little more afraid than you…

Or going through more pain and suffering than you…

Or who has more mouths to feed than you do…

Sometimes we take the obvious things in life for granted…

There are probably quite a lot of people who have a lot less than you do…

Some people have nothing more than a cardboard box to call home…

Billions of people live under totalitarian governments that tell them what to do with their lives…

And even how to dress…

Sometimes is feels like literally everyone is picking on y0u…

And sometimes life just kicks you right in the face…

Sometimes we all need just a little extra support to get back on our feet…

Just remember, it can always be worse…

Or worse than that…

Or even worse yet…

Remember, even when you feel totally buried, with enough determination you can always dig yourself out…

Sometimes you just have to make things work one way or another…

First you’ve got to get pumped up for what you believe in and let your feelings be known…

And always try your hardest to put on a happy face…

We have to learn to put our differences aside and work together…

And to do that we have to learn to trust one another…

We’ve got to open our eyes wide and see the beauty in the little things…

This holiday season, try to remember those who are in harms way and have a little sense of humor about your easy life…

Being American shouldn’t just be about having the coolest weapons on earth…

It’s should also be about inventing cool technological innovations that can help the world get out of this ecological and economic mess we’re in…

We can’t be lazy about the environment any more…

We should all be driving green, earth-friendly cars by now…

We have to start thinking about more innovative ways to move goods…

We have to do more with what we have and get more out of what we do…

And then get even more out of that…

Let’s prove that we’re not just a nation of whiners…

Life is short! Stop crying about stupid things that won’t matter in the long run…

Figure out who you really are and what you really want out of life…

Follow your bliss no matter where it takes you… And no matter how it makes you look to others…

Take some time to go fishing if that’s your thing!

Go ahead! Take a chance! Live your dreams! What’s the worst that could happen?? …

Most of all, no matter what message of hope and joy you celebrate this holiday season,
try to take some time in the new year to reach out and make a difference in the world.
